Dark Magnolia With Gold Leaf by Jean Bardon

Printmaker Jean Bardon is a graduate of Dun Laoghaire Insitute of Art, Design and Technology. While living in Amsterdam during the 1970s she took an etching class at De Werkschuit, at that time based on one of Amsterdam’s many houseboats. She was instantly fascinated by the techniques of etching, which remain almost unchanged since medieval times. Etching involves many processes, from initial drawing (with a pointed drawing tool on a copperplate) through to final proof. Jean is currently based at Graphic Studio Dublin. Her work has featured in solo and group exhibitions internationally.
